I have taught numerous individual classes as well as groups like Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Youth Service Bureau, as well as Boy Scouts. This is a great craft with many rewards, there is nothing better than catching a fish on a fishing rod you built by yourself for yourself just the way you wanted it.

For community groups it offers a chance to learn not only a new craft but also opens the door to numerous outdoor activities.

We are always looking for volunteers to assist in teaching. Give us a call anytime, or just stop by. Our doors are always open.

You will notice that the "About Us" and "Rod Group Blog" pages are devoted to events surrounding a club that partially was born of this website. The River Rats Rod Building Club is an organization of builders who meet on a monthly basis to discuss everything from changes in the industry to demonstrations on new techniques. Anyone can join this group from novice to pro, we are here to help eachother become better rod builders.
